Banks Come to the Aid of Flood Victims
 
   

Following the devastating floods that struck Queensland and Northern New South Wales, many of the Banks and Lenders have announced assistance and relief packages for flood affected customers experiencing hardship.

Whilst the exact nature of this assistance varies from institution to institution, most are offering;

  • Changes to repayment arrangements due to hardship.
  • Loan restructuring for business customers with existing loans, without incurring the usual establishment fees.
  • Providing additional loans, including emergency credit limit increases.
  • Discounted rates on new Personal Loans and new Personal Overdrafts for customers requiring emergency funds.
  • Waiving penalties for accessing Term Deposits, Investment Bonds and Debentures ahead of the maturity date.
  • Waiving branch service fees where the customer is looking to obtain a service from the Bank because of recent flooding.
